-
- You can use the LS120 (or compatible) ATAPI Floppy with IDEfix '97.
- Supported Disk formats are DD (720 kByte), HD (1.4 MByte) and the
- LS-120 format (120 MByte).
- All types can be used with the Amiga FS or CrossDOS.
-
- To install a LS120 drive, you must start the InstallLS120 program in your
- installation directory.
-
-
- This will automatically install the MountLS120 program in your
- S:USER-STARTUP file.
-
- It will mount all connected LS120 floppies as DF4:, DF5:, ...
-
- If you have CrossDOS installed, it will also mount PC equivalents PC4:,
- PC5: ...
-
- If you are running IDEfix via the LoadIDE mechanism and IDEfix is
- reset-redident, the LS-120 will be mounted at system startup.
- You can then boot from the LS-120 drive, if you install a bootblock.
-
- The LS120 CANNOT read or write standard Amiga 880k or 1.6Mb floppies.
- But you CAN exchange floppies between normal Amiga drives and the LS12120
- with the following trick:
-
- To read/write/format a "LS120-style" floppy, just do a
-
- MountLS120 mfm.device x
-
- where x is your unit number (0=DF0:, 1=DF1:, 2=DF2:, 3=DF3).
-
- After this, a new Floppy will appear (DF4:, DF5:).
- This floppy can be used to exchange data with LS120 drives.
- ATTENTION: This trick only works with Workbench version 2.1 or higher!
-
-
- Before you use a disk for the first time, it must be low-level formatted.
-
- Use the FormatLS120 command to do it, e.g.:
-
- FormatLS120 DF4:
-
- or
-
- FormatLS120 PC4:
-
-
- IMPORTANT:
-
- 120 MByte LS120 Floppies are pre formatted and don't need to be formatted!
- You can use FormatLS120 to format them, but it will take a very long time.
-
- Low-level formatted disks can be formatted with the AmigaOS format command.
